The problem of storage concerns those fruits defined as “climacteric” or those that continue to ripen even after being harvested. For this type of fruit, storage time becomes an important variable, and with the use of ozone generators, it is possible to increase storage times for tomatoes, kiwis, and apples.

What are the advantages of the ozone generator?

The ozone generator is a simple, compact, effective and low-cost solution. A solution that has enabled farms using it to increase the shelf life of tomatoes from 4 to 20 days.

The ozone generator inside the storage cells makes it possible to:

  • Perform deep vacuum sanitization(elimination of fungi, mold, bacteria)
  • Rapid oxidation/elimination of ethylene, resulting in slower ripening process
  • Eliminate microbial load, thus preventing microbiological degradation
